What is a rendezvous in Turkey
Often, every foreigner can stay in Turkey within the framework of the visa regime - up to 90 days every 180 days. But if you decide to stay in the country for a long time, you need to get an Ikamet card (ikamet) or a residence permit.
The registration procedure is quite simple and takes place in stages. First you need to apply in the e-ikamet system and collect all the necessary documents. Then, from the proposed options, you can choose a date and time that is convenient for you to come to the rendezvous at the Migration Service.
A rendezvous in Turkey is an interview of a foreigner with an employee of the Migration Service. Based on its results, a decision is made to satisfy or reject the application for a residence permit.
How to sign up for a rendezvous
In 2015, the format “Centralized rendezvous system” was introduced in the republic ". According to it, registration for a rendezvous in Turkey for all foreign citizens takes place online through the e-ikamet system, the official page of the General Directorate of Migration of the Republic of Turkey.
Filling out the application can be divided into several simple steps:

- Filling out the preliminary form: full name, contact information, citizenship, gender, date of birth, TIN of the home country, passport number and series.

- Fill in your health insurance details, such as your insurance company name and policy number.
- Indicate the reasons for issuing the Ikamet and the desired validity period.
- If there are family members, you must additionally fill out the form "Information about the person / persons applying for ikamet".
The final stage is the choice of the city, as well as the date and time of the rendezvous. After that, you will be given a list of necessary documents that you need to prepare, and the amount of tax is indicated.
Features of registration on the site
All information in the questionnaire must be written in Latin, and the red fields in it are required.

It is best to enter data on a computer, not on a phone, because it is more convenient to save a copy of the questionnaire on it and less likely to make a mistake. If the mistake was nevertheless made, you need to cancel the rendezvous and indicate the reason. After that, the application will be canceled and you can fill it out again.
Many people are also interested in the question of whether it is possible to leave Turkey before the rendezvous after filling out the application. At the moment, foreigners are prohibited from doing this, because otherwise their application will be canceled.
How is the rendezvous in Turkey
After the application is submitted, at the appointed date and time you need come to the office of the Migration Service. His address is indicated on the main page of the questionnaire. Often the interview takes place at the place of registration.
You need to take with you all the necessary documents that were indicated when filling out the application. The basic ones are:
- receipt of payment of state duty;

Is it possible to leave Turkey after the rendezvous
It takes up to 3 months to consider an application. If this is your first Ikamet, then after the rendezvous you will be given an ikamet izni müracaat belgesi - a certificate of application review. It allows you to legally stay in Turkey until a verdict is issued on the issuance of a residence permit. With it, after paying all the fees, you can also leave the republic for a period of no more than 15 days.
However, in the absence of visa-free days, it is better to abandon this idea, as there is a risk of getting an entry ban. Therefore, we recommend that you leave the Republic of Turkey only after the approval of the application for a residence permit.
